Whilst the “Get back to sailing “ fleet were gaining their tuition, club members continued the Saturday Series, with a square course and rising tide. Well ,that was for the morning race , as the 2p m start had a dropping tide, and a need for careful sailing if not to be dragged down the Channel in unchecked light winds.

Oliver Good represented the cadets in a club Hartley but with a better time than his parents Miracle , who were second to Rachel Wynn, in her Comet Extra. Neil Sith third, ahead of Dave Kerr’s Lightning, a misnomer on this occasion.

The Fast Fleet saw Colin Coard leading the Laser foursome , but still was beaten by the Supernova of Tony Witham. And what happened to Tim Murray’s Vortex , tail end Charlie this time , after a win last week. Good to see Dave Baldwin , novice, challenging in his Laser too.

The later race saw a varied fleet challenge a very similar course, with results to follow.

This weekend has three days of racing before moving on to the Coronation Races scheduled for May 8 th prior the Club King’s Buffet, so book your places for a right royal occasion.
