Although last Saturday was raced well in balmy conditions , the sailors were looking forward to a full week on the water.
And at time of going to press Mondays early race, to coincide with the tide , certainly delivered for a mixed fleet of 32 boats of different shapes and sizes.
The race officer was the Commodore , assisted by the ex-Commodore , setting a course with a beat to the Easterly mark , whilst noting the wind moving to South- Easterly as the morning progressed.
So , the winners were-Cats , Flo and Abi Wright, Comet Fleet – Steve Boniface, Slow Fleet- Neil Smith, Fast fleet- Tony Witham, Cadets-Logan Adams and Josh Cook .
There was impressive performances in both the Novice and Topper fleets both out in numbers. The winners were Rick Parker and Eve Fifield respectively.
So more performances expected as the week unfolds towards next weekends Regatta , with a four race program over the two days.
Definitely more fun in the sunshine for BSC and their families.
